April 8, Hearty Meal on a Whimsical Spring Day

오늘은 2026년 4월 8일이에요. 아침에는 어제처럼 쌀쌀했는데, 점심때가 되니 기온이 많이 올라갔어요. 식사 후 산책을 하는데 오히려 더울 정도였습니다. 한국의 봄 날씨는 정말 변화가 심한 것 같아요.

Today is April 8th, 2026. It was chilly again this morning like yesterday, but by lunchtime the temperature rose a lot. It actually felt a bit hot during my post-lunch walk. Korean spring weather really changes a lot!

오늘 먹은 메뉴 / Today's Menu
흑미밥 : Black Rice (Heukmi-bap)
귀리밥도 있었는데 귀리가 조금뿐이라 그냥 흑미를 선택했어요.
There was also oat rice, but there weren’t many oats, so I just chose black rice.
콩나물국 : Bean Sprout Soup (Kongnamul-guk)
간이 적당하게 맛이 있었어요.
The seasoning was just right and it tasted good.
깻잎제육 : Perilla Leaf Stir-fried Spicy Pork (Kkaennip Je-yuk)
깻잎향이 잘 나고 맛도 조화롭게 너무 맛있었어요. 역시 제육은 호불호가 거의 없어요.
The perilla leaf aroma came through nicely and the flavors were well balanced. It was really delicious. Spicy stir-fried pork is almost universally loved.
베이컨크림파스타 : Bacon Cream Pasta (Bacon Cream Pasta)
소스도 맛있고 면도 적당하게 잘 익었어요.
The sauce was tasty and the pasta was cooked just right.
마늘빵 : Garlic Bread (Maneul-ppang)
부드럽고 맛이 있었는데 좀 달았어요. 단맛이 없어도 될 것 같아요.
It was soft and flavorful, but a bit sweet. I think it would be better without the sweetness.
모둠튀김 : Assorted Fried Items (Modeum Twigim)
오징어링 튀김과 치킨텐더였어요. 좀 차가워서 따뜻하면 더 좋았을 것 같아요.
It was fried squid rings and chicken tenders. They were a bit cold, so they would have been better if served warm.
마늘쫑 : Garlic Scape Stir-fry (Maneul-jjong)
내가 좋아하는 반찬이에요. 알싸한 맛이 좋아요.
This is one of my favorite side dishes. I love its sharp, pungent taste.
꽈리고추 조림 : Braised Shishito Peppers (Kkwari-gochu Jorim)
어제 먹었던 거예요. 전 좋아해요.
This was the same as yesterday. I really like it.
삼색콩나물무침 : Three-color Bean Sprout Salad (Sam-saek Kongnamul Muchim)
콩나물, 당근, 호박으로 삼색이 구성되었네요.
It was made with bean sprouts, carrot, and zucchini — a nice three-color combination.
묵은지들기름무침 : Aged Kimchi with Perilla Oil (Mugeunji Deulgireum Muchim)
어제 이야기한게 들기름과 무침으로 나왔네요 ^^
The aged kimchi I mentioned yesterday came out mixed with perilla oil. ^^
추가 반찬 : Extra sides 김, 샐러드 Toasted seaweed (gim), salad.
오늘은 깻잎제육과 마늘쫑이 특히 맛있었고, 베이컨크림파스타도 괜찮았어요. 봄 날씨가 변덕스러워서 조금 힘들지만, 구내식당의 따뜻하고 다양한 반찬 덕분에 기분 좋게 점심을 먹었습니다. 여러분은 깻잎제육 좋아하세요? 오늘 나온 메뉴 중에 가장 먹어보고 싶은 건 뭐예요?

Today, the perilla leaf stir-fried pork and garlic scapes were especially delicious, and the bacon cream pasta was pretty good too. Spring weather is so changeable, but thanks to the warm and varied side dishes at the cafeteria, I had a very satisfying lunch. Do you like perilla leaf je-yuk?
