  • March 17, Even though it was a cafeteria meal, it was unexpectedly delicious!
    My Table, Korea 2026. 3. 17. 13:44

Today, I couldn't decide what to eat, so I just headed straight to the company cafeteria. Sometimes, it's just best to let someone else decide your meal rather than racking your brain over it. So, let's dive into today's lunch review!

From Main Dishes to Sides, An Honest Review

    • 흑미밥 : Black Rice (Heukmi-bap): White rice and fried rice were options, but I chose black rice for health! I love its chewy texture. (Black rice benefits, healthy eating tips)
    • 시금치 된장국 : Spinach Soybean Paste Soup (Sigeumchi Doenjang-guk): The spinach was a bit overcooked, but considering it's a mass-produced cafeteria meal, I'll let it slide! The warm soup was very comforting. (Korean soup recipes, comfort food)
    • 숯불 오삼불고기 : Charcoal-Grilled Spicy Squid & Pork (Sutbul Osam-bulgogi): I had high hopes, but the squid was a bit tough, which was a shame. Hope it's more tender next time! (Spicy Korean food, squid recipes, pork stir-fry)
    • 삼치구이 : Grilled Mackerel (Samchi-gui): Grilling fish at home can be a hassle, right? Eating grilled fish at a restaurant is always the best! Crispy outside, juicy inside—perfectly cooked. (Healthy fish recipes, easy dinner ideas)
    • 치킨난반 : Chicken Nanban (Chikin Nanban): Crispy yet juicy chicken breast with a refreshing tartar sauce is always a winning combination. This was a total rice thief! (Fried chicken recipes, Japanese-style fried chicken)
    • 비엔나 로제 떡볶이 : Vienna Rose Tteokbokki (Bienna Roje Tteokbokki): I skipped the rice cakes and just picked out the Vienna sausages. The spicy-sweet rose sauce with Vienna sausages is pure love! (Tteokbokki recipes, fusion food, sausage dishes)
    • 탕평채 : Tangpyeongchae (Tangpyeongchae): A clean and refreshing dish made with mung bean jelly, bean sprouts, watercress, and seaweed. It really cleansed the palate between bites! (Traditional Korean cuisine, healthy side dishes)
    • 세발나물 : Glasswort (Sebal-namul): The gochujang seasoning was absolutely amazing. Its slightly bitter and spicy kick was a perfect match for rice! (Seasonal greens, Korean vegetable dishes)
    • 기본 반찬 : Basic Side Dishes (Gibon Banchan): Kimchi, Gim(seaweed), and salad are always welcome. I don't even know how many times I refilled the seaweed! (Everyday Korean side dishes, kimchi recipes)

Another hearty lunch solved! While it wasn't perfect, that's the charm of a cafeteria—great value and a variety of dishes to try. I'll be back with another fun food review soon!
